Management

Michael  Wyrzykowski, MSc,  Chairman & co-CEO

Michael graduated in 1979 with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Warsaw, Poland where he subsequently worked as an Assistant Professor till 1984.

After immigrating to Canada in 1985, Michael worked in a number of technical and management positions for Honeywell and GE Mobile Radio where he was responsible for the development of new products.

In 1991 Michael co-founded Futurecom Systems Group Inc. where he is presently a Chairman and co-CEO.

Michael is leading the Futurecom Engineering and Business Development Teams and is directly involved in new product development.

Steve Dimitru, P.Eng., President & co-CEO

Steve has over 30 years of experience in the RF wireless field and is leading the Manufacturing and Operations departments at Futurecom.

Prior to co-founding Futurecom, Steve worked at General Electric as a design engineer and manager in the mobile radio division.

Steve received his P. Eng designation in 1982 and attended the University of Toronto and Ryerson University.


Allen Luprypa, CA, Member of the Board of Directors

One of the original four founders of VenGrowth's retail funds, Allen has been involved with all facets of development, including multiple acquisitions, key management placements, strategic partnering, and expense management initiatives.

Before joining VenGrowth, Allen was with the merchant banking arm of a Canadian Schedule I bank. Allen served as a member of the Canadian venture capital community and was a former Director of the Canadian Venture Capital Association (CVCA), past Co-Chair of the Statistics, Reporting and Valuation Committee and was a member of The Investment Funds Institute of Canada's Fair Valuing Working Group, focusing on the valuation of private companies.

Allen is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Comm. Honours) degree.


Al Guarino, Member of the Board of Directors

Al graduated with a Business and Commerce degree from the University of Toronto in 1980. Upon graduating, Al commenced his career as a practitioner in public practice and obtained his designation as a chartered accountant in 1984.

During his career in public practice Al worked with a variety of clients including both large privately held businesses and public companies.  In 1994, Al became a partner with Arthur Andersen LLP and managed their Enterprise Practice in Toronto until 2000.

In 2000, after 20 years in public practice, Al left the firm to take a position as the Executive Vice President of Premier Fitness Clubs.  Al is one of the founders of the 50 Best Managed Private Companies awards program which was sponsored by the CIBC, the National Post and Arthur Andersen LLP.  Under his management, this program became one of the premier business awards program in Canada for privately held companies. 

Al serves on the Board of Directors of Cornerstone 52 Foundation, a charity that has raised millions of dollars for worthy causes that benefit children in need and on the Board of Directors of Futurecom Systems Group Inc., a successful privately held Canadian company, which is a world leader in its field.
